Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today attended the Ravan Dahan program organised by the Lav-Kush Ramlila Committee on the occasion of Vijayadashami near Red Fort as the Chief Guest and celebrated the festival with people of Delhi. During this event, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal ceremoniously shot arrows at the idols of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnad to promote the ideals of truth over evil. The Lav Kush Ramlila Committee felicitated the CM by presenting him with the Ramayana, a Ram Darbar, a Mace and Shawls. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Through Ramlila on one hand we connect with our culture and on the other hand we get a very inspirational message from the life of Lord Shri Ram. Lord Ram lived a life of sacrifice, he could have become a king if he wanted, the public was with him, but at the behest of his parents, he left the kingdom and went to exile for 14 years. I hope and pray that we can all together Make India No 1 & become the best and most powerful nation in the world.”
Praying to Lord Shri Ram, Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that may India become the best and most powerful country in the world. He said that may Lord Shri Ram keep everyone healthy, destroy all diseases, may there be lots of blessings in everyone’s families and bless everyone with lots of happiness.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today attended the Ravan Dahan ceremony organised by the Luv-Kush Ramlila Committee at Lal Qila Maidan as the Chief Guest. The members of the Luv-Kush Ramlila Committee brought Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal on stage with the help of a massive trolley-swing. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal sat to watch the Ramlila staged at the function. The Ramlila Maidan was jam packed with a huge crowd of Ram devotees who were full of enthusiasm. Their enthusiasm touched the summit when they saw CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal among them.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was felicitated by the members of the Luv-Kush Ramlila Committee. The members of the committee offered shawls and patkas to Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal. The members of the committee presented him with a Ramayan, a Ram Darbar and a mace. The committee also gifted him a plant sapling, spreading the message of importance of tree plantation. The Ramlila Committee had made a 30 feet high effigy of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnad. In the end, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal burnt the idols of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnad by shooting arrows at them and gave them a message of victory of good over evil. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal sat to watch the Ramlila staged at the function.
Addressing the function, Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal congratulated and greeted all the people of India on the occasion of Dussehra. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “Hearty congratulations to everyone on the occasion of Dussehra and Navratri. It is a festive season. I pray to Lord Ram for the happiness and well-being of everyone and their families. I wish you Godspeed and may all your wishes come true. I am quite happy that so many people have gathered to watch Ramleela. I have fond memories of watching Ramleela in my childhood everyday. Ramleela helps us in getting attached to our culture and the life of Lord Ram gives a very powerful message. Children learn a lot of qualities from him. He made so many sacrifices in his life. On the eve of his coronation as the King of Ayodhya, he was called by the King Dashrath in his room where Mata Kaikeyi ordered him to live in exile for 14 years. Everyone in Ayodhya was on Lord Ram’s side and if he wanted, he would not have gone into exile and instead, become the King. But Lord Ram was God himself. He did not even think twice and gave up the kingship to live in exile for 14 years. Such was his character and personality.”
He added, “I am requesting the people of Delhi and across the country to watch Ram Leela in-person along with your children instead of watching it on television. I pray for the progress of Delhi and may the country add glory to its name across the globe. It is my dream that India becomes the best and most powerful country in the world.”
*Chants of Jai Shri Ram reverberate at Ramlila Maidan*
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal was the Chief Guest of the Ramlila function organised by the Luv-Kush Ramlila Committee at Ramlila Maidan. During the event, he addressed the people of Delhi from the stage, which he started with the exclamation of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Along with CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the office bearers of the Ramlila Committee and thousands of Ram devotees also chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’. The devotees continued to chant the slogan even during CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s address. The Chief Minister also concluded his address with the exclamation of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and people gathered from all parts of Delhi followed him.
